New York, NY, September 30, 2020 - Luminary, a subscription podcast network, announced the launch of The College Tapes, the latest scripted drama series from The Bright Sessions universe. The immersive series is full of surprises as listeners are invited to experience the characters’ journeys of self-discovery and the angst of being on the brink of adulthood.

In The College Tapes two college students, Caleb and Adam (played by Briggon Snow and Alex Gallner, reprising their roles from The Bright Sessions), are reunited when a mysterious secret society shows up on Adam’s campus. They’re sucked into a dangerous conspiracy, and back into each other’s orbits, learning more about the world of Atypicals and the mixed-up feelings they still have for each other.

A truly immersive experience, the story unfolds over the course of 20 episodes, told in both the podcast feed and in the social media feeds of the characters.  The entire series, and accompanying social media content, will be released in real time, following the characters as they experience life in their alternate October 2020, culminating in a dramatic and thrilling conclusion just in time for Halloween.

The series is created by Lauren Shippen, the creator of The Bright Sessions fictional universe, and Atypical Artists. It is written by Lauren Shippen, Meghan Fitzmartin, and Briggon Snow, sound designed by Mischa Stanton and Brandon Grugle, with original scoring by Evan Cunningham.

“After five years of living in this universe,” said Lauren Shippen, “it is so exciting to expand into multi-platform storytelling in real time. The College Tapes is going to bring audiences into the lives of characters they love and introduce a whole new facet to this universe that we think is going to be thrilling for fans, old and new alike.”

Briggon Snow added, “Getting to step into Caleb’s shoes again was the greatest gift. This character and new story is chock-full of empathy and compassion; something we all need a bit more of these days. I hope folks follow along with our spooky-emo-queer adventure and have as much of a blast experiencing it as we had creating it.”
